Automatic Roles and Pings

NeatQueue can ping a role to attract players, and hand out roles automatically as players move through the queue and matches. All of these commands are admin-only and apply to the queue in the channel where you run them.

Rank roles from MMR and leaderboard-position roles are covered elsewhere: see MMR and Ranks.

Pinging a role when the queue fills

Use /autoping add to mention a role when the queue reaches a certain size.

  • role - the role to ping
  • size - ping when the queue has exactly this many players
  • message (optional) - text sent after the mention, for example "people are queuing, join up"
  • delete_after (optional) - delete the ping after this many seconds to reduce clutter

A queue can have several rules, so you can ping a looking-for-game role when the first player joins and again when the queue is one player short of starting. Running /autoping add again for the same role and size updates that rule instead of adding a duplicate.

Use /autoping remove to delete a single rule; pick it from the list that appears. /info shows the rules currently set.

Cooldown

/autoping cooldown sets the minimum number of seconds before the same rule can ping again. This stops spam when players leave and rejoin around the ping size. Each rule has its own timer, and 0 turns the cooldown off.

See /autoping add and /autoping remove in the command reference.

Roles for players in the queue and in matches

CommandWhat it does
/autoroles inqueueGives a role to players while they are in the queue
/autoroles ingameGives a role to players while they are in a match, removed when it ends
/autoroles bannedGives a role to players banned with /player ban, removed when the ban ends

Run any of these without a role to turn it off. The bot's highest role must be above the role you choose, or it cannot manage it.

note

The banned role applies to the whole server. Setting it also gives the role to everyone who is currently banned. If you later change or clear it, the old role is not removed automatically.

See /autoroles inqueue, /autoroles ingame and /autoroles banned.

Team roles

Give each team its own role for the duration of a match, for example to unlock a private team voice channel.

  • /autoroles teams set maps a team name to a role. When teams are created, everyone on that team gets the role, and it is removed when the match ends or is cancelled. Names are matched without regard to capitalisation, and can be custom team names, captain names, or the default "Team 1" and "Team 2".
  • /autoroles teams remove removes a mapping, by team name or by role. It only affects future matches.
  • /autoroles teams temporary creates a brand new role for each team every match (named like "Red - #42") and deletes it when the match ends. It can be used together with teams set.

See /autoroles teams set, /autoroles teams remove and /autoroles teams temporary.

Rank change DMs

/autoroles notify controls whether players get a direct message when their rank role changes. See /autoroles notify.
