Parties and Party Queues
A party is a named group of players who queue together. NeatQueue keeps the whole party in the same match and, when teams are balanced, never splits it up.
Parties belong to your server, not to one queue. A player creates a party once and can bring it into any queue that allows parties.
For players
Create a party
Run /party create and pick a name. Names are limited to 20 characters (longer names are cut off) and must be unique in the server. You become the party's captain. You can be in up to 24 parties at a time.
Invite and join
- The captain runs
/party inviteto invite a player. The invitee gets a DM with a Join button. - Players can also join with
/party join, but only if they have a pending invite. /party cancelinvitescancels all pending invites.
Manage the party
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/party list | Shows the parties you are in |
/party view | Shows a party's captain and members |
/party selectrole | Sets your role in a party, for queues that use roles |
/party kick | Captain removes a member |
/party clear | Captain removes everyone except themselves |
/party captain | Captain hands the captaincy to another member |
/party leave | Leave a party (the captain can't leave; transfer captaincy or disband instead) |
/party disband | Captain deletes the party |
Server staff can use the captain commands on any party.
Queue as a party
Only the captain queues for the party. When the captain clicks the queue's join button, NeatQueue asks which party to bring (or to join solo). Every member is added to the queue together, and each member must pass the queue's normal join requirements.
Parties also show up in the web dashboard, where captains can create parties, invite players and kick members without Discord commands.
For admins
Party queue settings
Party queue is on by default for every queue. Use /partyqueue toggle to turn it off, in which case everyone joins solo. Each setting below applies to one queue.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/partyqueue toggle | Allow or block parties in this queue |
/partyqueue maxsize | Largest party allowed (omit to remove the limit) |
/partyqueue minsize | Smallest party allowed (omit to remove the limit) |
/partyqueue maxrange | Largest MMR gap allowed between a party's highest and lowest member |
/partyqueue maxaverage | Highest average MMR a party may have, to stop top players stacking |
/partyqueue preventoverfill | Reject a party that wouldn't fit in the remaining queue spots (off by default) |
/partyqueue requiredrole add / remove | Every party member must hold at least one of the listed roles |
/partyqueue add | Staff puts an existing party into the queue on its behalf |
If party queue is on and you set a minimum party size above 1, solo players can't join that queue and must use a party.
In a standard queue, a party can't be larger than the team size.
Disbanding parties
Staff can run /party disbandall to delete every party in the server. You must type "confirm" first, and it also deletes the parties' leaderboard stats. It can't be undone.
Party leaderboards
Run /leaderboardconfig display and choose Parties to rank parties instead of players. You can also pick Players or Parties for a single /leaderboard with its display option, and the leaderboard has a button to switch views.
- Only parties that have actually played the queue appear.
- A party's games, wins, losses, ties and streaks count the matches it played together. They are tracked separately from its members' own stats.
- A party's MMR is the average of its current members.
- Points, MVPs and custom stats aren't tracked for parties.
- This applies to the Discord and website leaderboards.
See Leaderboard and Stats for the rest of the leaderboard options.
Parties in matchmaking
In matchmaking queues, a party is matched as one unit and only counts toward a match if all of its members fit inside the allowed MMR range.
